Twenty-three women work with the house, all of them twenty-one or over, aged twenty-one to thirty. Each sets her own hours and decides which bookings she takes. Name the one you both liked, or describe the evening, and the reply comes back with who is free.

Reading a profile

The same facts sit in the same order on all 23 of them: age, height, hair, languages, the district she sets out from and the techniques she lists. Two of them can be held side by side without hunting.

Techniques instead

The grid above is the whole roster rather than a shortlist for your dates. Twenty-three is the number on the books, and the number free on any given evening is smaller, which is the one thing worth knowing before two people start agreeing on a favourite from opposite sides of Europe.

Choosing her together, from two countries

Most couples here do the choosing weeks before anyone packs. A link goes into whatever thread the two of you already use, you both look, and a name comes back. That works, and it is the reason the profiles carry photographs rather than a description of a type.

What costs couples their first choice is leaving the name in your own thread instead of writing it to the house. A name written here eight days out is straightforward to hold with a deposit. The same name asked for at seven in the evening on a Friday may simply not be free, and the answer then says who is, without anyone being talked into anybody.

Languages, when the two of you do not share one

English appears on all twenty-three profiles. Beyond it, French is on six, Dutch and Spanish on three each, Russian and Greek on two each, and there are single speakers of Italian, Czech, Romanian, Ukrainian, German, Serbian, Latvian and Portuguese. Couples who live in two countries often run their own evenings in a second language, and it is reasonable to ask for a therapist whose profile carries the one you are both easiest in.

Where she starts from, and what that means for your hour

There are no premises, so every journey begins at her own address. Six women start in the centre, six in Oud-Zuid, six in De Pijp and five in the Jordaan. Whichever district the two of you picked to meet in, somebody is usually near it.

The window is forty to sixty minutes from an agreed booking to a knock, the same across the central districts and the same at eleven at night as at three in the afternoon. It is counted from the point she is ready to travel rather than from a clear road. A room at a Schiphol airport hotel sits outside that window and is arranged separately, with the journey time agreed before anything is fixed.

What each profile holds

Her age, the languages on her file, the district she travels from, the techniques she works in and her photographs, each of them of her and published with her agreement. The rate table repeats on every page because the tariff does not move between one woman and the next: for a couple it is 360 euros an hour with one therapist and 720 with two, 540 and 1,080 for ninety minutes, 720 and 1,440 for two hours, 1,080 and 2,160 for three, and 2,500 or 5,760 for the eight hour block. Nothing is added for a Saturday, for a late hour or for her journey across the centre.

She decides which bookings she accepts and may decline any of them. She states the limits of a session before it begins and may end a visit at any point. Everyone on the roster is twenty-one or over, and so is everyone in the room, which the age statement sets out.

Booking one of them for the two of you

Put her name on the first line, with the address, the hour, the length, and whether you want one therapist or two underneath it. Say plainly that there are two of you and that you have both agreed to the booking. The reply names the figure and an arrival window, and the booking page sets out what happens after that.
